Well, here we are again!
Beginning of term meeting tomorrow at 9.00 a.m in The Chapel at St Mary’s Calne. Meeting at Stonar on Thursday. Where did the summer go?
I have been busy during August promoting the concert I am funding in Chippenham on Saturday 7th September. It would be lovely to have a good audience, even one of my former pupils, from 12 years ago at Stonar, is travelling from London to hear us so I am hopeful. It is going to be a lovely concert of duets and solos from the worlds of Opera and Broadway so please support us if you are able to. Here is a link to follow and where you can buy tickets
Next up, I am performing for a private ‘Last Night Of The Proms’ event in Hook with my accompanist Nick Goodall. Looking forward to it as I get to choose my own repertoire – bits of Opera, American Songbook and good old 1930-40’s songs where we get the audience singing along before their picnics!
I have a weekend off before I perform with my colleagues in Opera Sulis for the Heritage Open Day at Ashton Court Arts Mansion in Bristol, on Saturday the 28th of September, where we will be bringing the proceedings to a close with an hour long performance of Opera. I have linked this to the Mansion’s history throughout the ages, with the help of the guide book written in the 1970’s (which was 30p back then, but £7.50 on eBay these days!) – Merchant Traders, Unscrupulous Siblings, Ghosts, Hidden Treasure – It’s all there!
That seems to be September 2019 sewn up.
